In the 2180s, Alex grew up in San Angelo with his parents and younger brother, Will. As a child, Alex was recruited by Renovatio—an engineering organization—due to his strong interest in learning useful skills. There, he chose the stage name “Alexander The Great.” He specialized in mechanical engineering and programming. His goofy humor attracted the attention of Maxence, the Arkhitekton of Dallas. Alex then became one of Maxence's Telemons (engineer advisors).
In his preteens, preceding “A Puppet of Idealistic Will,” Maxence's advisors were killed by Renovatio. Alex was the only advisor who managed to escape. In the outskirts, he joined the Antistasi—an illegal organization that sought to reform the government.
In his teenage years, he was captured in a revolt. Corelai negotiated to keep him out of prison. After several months, the Antistasi recovered him. He helped Corelai and Aman gather the Sivylla from around the world.
Appearance
Alex was born a human. In his teenage years, he was a 5’10”, slightly overweight white guy. His recent ancestry was primarily Amalrican and Irish. He kept his short, black hair combed to the left side. He had dark brown eyes.
Personality, Behavior, Et Cetera
Alex was always a jokester around people his age and younger. In contrast, he was militaristic and respectful toward adults who he believed in.
By his teenage years, he was not afraid to cause destruction for the sake of eventual progress. He could argue with his friends incessantly, which could be helpful for seeing opposing perspectives yet incredibly annoying.
Having gone from impoverished to rich to impoverished again, he appreciated little things. He acted toward balancing wealth inequality. Renovatio taught him science, math, programming, and engineering. The Antistasi taught him self-defense, hacking, and fighting.
He was straight. See? I write cis straight characters too sometimes.
Relationships
As a child, Alex felt responsibility toward taking care of his family. He tried to keep Will's spirits up—even when the two occasionally got on each other’s nerves.
When he was recruited for Renovatio, he made friends, including Maxence and Annie. The incident that led to “A Puppet of Idealistic Will” hardened Alex’s playful demeanor.
Reconnecting with Maxence was an odd experience; they were both glad to see each other, even though they had a brash way of communicating it. In his teenage years, Alex quickly befriended other engineers, including Corelai and Aru. When he returned to the Antistasi, he enjoyed lightly antagonizing Aman. He was overjoyed to reunite with Will.
