Dive into a survival story about the consequences of leaving loopholes in the law.
No one has died in the game shows before. But for renowned shows like Truth or Dare, the cameras don’t stop recording for any reason—not even murder.
Cai is a human/alien hybrid living in New York City, the hub of the most popular game shows in the 2240s.
For years, Cai has kept her alien aspects secret in hopes of blending in with human society. Her assertive human girlfriend, Analisa, supports Cai no matter what.
When Analisa’s father is diagnosed with cancer, Analisa applies to game shows, hoping to win enough prize money for her father’s treatment. Shows like Truth or Dare thrive on revealing secrets. Still, Cai applies to the shows to improve Analisa’s chances of being selected.
Analisa, her brother, and Cai are cast for a week on Truth or Dare. Just as they start bonding with the other nine players, they find players poisoned and stabbed to death. The referees won’t let anyone leave the game arena until the end of the week. Cai and her allies must shift their priorities from keeping their secrets to keeping each other alive.

Praise for When Truth Cowers

"To tell you this read like a good Agatha Christie novel would be an understatement. Just when our heroes begin feeling safe, stakes are upped again, and again, demanding ever greater sacrifices. Really, how was I supposed to sleep and not just finish reading it?"
"This has to be one of the most unique thriller-detective books I have ever read so far. It’s truly the icing on the cake that all characters were life-like, with a diversity in identities, sexualities, social backgrounds and race. Their different personalities shone through in every single scene, and even as a team, they were cohesive."
""When Truth Cowers” winds a path that is addictively unpredictable. I usually like to have some idea of whodunit in a whodunit. But both the characters and the story were so engaging, I stopped caring about whodunit and just enjoyed the ride."
