About G
(they/them)
I write science fiction to contemplate human ingenuity
I write supernatural horror to explore mortality
I aim to be liberal with content warnings

I grew up with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) in Texas. I graduated high school during the start of COVID. Then I graduated Reed College amidst wildfires and returned to the hurricanes of Houston. Now, I'm publishing stories about a future beyond the world’s current political climate. Delving into a character's identity while society doesn't wait for the character to explore their emotions is my favorite form of therapy.
Random Facts About Me:
LGBT+, Swedish/Mexican descent, atheist, and has DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder)
Favorite authors: S. J. Kincaid, Xiran Jay Zhao, L. M. Juniper, and Ria Parisi
I enjoy a healthy amount of books and boba tea

What to Expect in my Writing
About the In-Story Universe
All my stories take place in the same universe.
As a result, each story often contains references to other stories. It's not necessary to read the referenced stories to understand the work they're referenced in. Every story or series is written to stand on its own.
About Religion
The timeline of my stories stretches across time, so current religions will fade out of practice.
None of my stories claim that practicing religious beliefs is wrong; a few of my stories particularly celebrate how faith can improve lives. But my stories do aim to point out a pattern: all religions which faded were once believed in.
About Identities
All my stories have different types of people.
That includes (but isn't limited to) POC, LGBT+, disabled, neurodivergent, and mentally ill characters. It also includes characters that have different nationalities, ethnicities, religions, body types, and financial backgrounds. As someone with DID who grew up with abysmal representation of my condition, I aim to depict people with respect.
About Dark Subjects
I cover some kind of dark subject matter, so I'll clarify that in content warnings.
Writing books is a way for me to explore my fears, grief, and anxiety. Sometimes that means there's on-page or references to violence/abuse. My purpose isn't to include these instances for shock value, but as something for the characters (and vicariously, readers) to work through.
About the Lack of Sex
I don't plan to include on-page sex in any of my stories.
Being asexual, I have no interest in writing or reading about sex. To be clear, some of the characters have sex, but rather than it being described, it'll be implied, mentioned, or discussed. The young characters aren't clueless about sex either; it's normal to be educated about it in the written universe's future.
Why Bother With This?
I say all this because I've seen too many DNFs or 1-star reviews on indie author books because the reader didn't like how the book handled one of the above points.
Reviews are exceedingly important for indie books to find their audience. Hopefully, this list of potential contention points will help you gauge whether you'll enjoy my stories.
If my writing isn't for you, no worries! I still appreciate you reading this section.
