Kiran
They/them
In the 2180s, Kiran grew up on the planet Eden. They loved their home planet, but they always had a longing to explore the stars. When the humluxes decided to help the clover-like jirofoil species relocate to a planet they could better thrive on, Kiran signed up to scout other planets. This led to them accidentally crashing into Earth in 2216.
Alexis, a nature-loving human, found Kiran crashed in their spaceship. She took Kiran in while her family helped to rebuild the crashed spaceship. But since Kiran fell in love with Alexis during this time, they decided to stay on Earth.
In 2223, they chose to have a child together. With the help of Alexis' parents' wealth, Kiran and Alexis paid a lab to create their daughter, Caitlee. Kiran loved connecting with Caitlee on the humlux warbling language and telling stories of the faraway planet she was descended from. But since Caitlee's personality was also one for independence, Kiran and Alexis accepted that Caitlee needed to grow up somewhat distanced from her parents. As of "When Truth Cowers," Caitlee and Alexis still didn't see eye to eye, which put Kiran in the difficult position of being unsure who to support.
Appearance
Kiran was born a Herba Humilis Lux (or shortened, a humlux). As a humlux, they were a green, tree-like being with a large hood near the top of their leaves. Like most humluxes, they could walk via their roots system. Their leafy limbs moved similarly to their roots.
As of the beginning of "When Truth Cowers," Kiran was about 10 feet tall, which was short for a humlux their age. They were fifty-six years old, which was about middle age for humluxes.
Personality, Behavior, Et Cetera
Kiran tended to go with the flow of things. Their most noticeable attributes were how protective they were over their family and how gentle they were with the ones they cared about. Although Earth was polluted, they appreciated the nature they encountered.
Relationships
At the beginning of "When Truth Cowers," Kiran was in a committed relationship with Alexis. Kiran's gentle, laid-back attitude somehow meshed well with Alexis' stern, opinionated demeanor. Kiran appreciated how accepting Alexis' family was, particularly Dix, Aru, and Tera. Kiran adored how strong Caitlee grew up to be.
Trivia
-
Kiran was a Herba Humilis Lux (or shortened, a humlux) from the planet Eden. As of "When Truth Cowers," humanity didn't know enough about humluxes or Eden to have given them those informal names. Nowadays, we know Eden as TRAPPIST-1e.
