The Masked Figure
She/her
In 2206, The Trader's League captured the Sivylla/Enforcers during "Death's Mending Touch." The Masked Figure experimented on the Sivylla/Enforcers, testing their enhanced capabilities. The group assumed the Masked Figure to be human until Nairobi and Diya encountered her without her mask. From the clues of the Masked Figure's appearance and behavior, Nairobi correctly guessed that this creature was a derivation of the Kuchisake-Onna legend.
As Nairobi said, "the one experimenting on us bears an uncanny similarity to the legend of Kuchisake-Onna. She’s a vengeful spirit who asks her victims whether she’s beautiful before revealing her face and asking the same question. If you say no or hesitate in your answer, she’ll kill you, slice you in half, or cut up your face like hers. I’ve heard that she’ll let you pass unharmed if you say you’re running late for something.”
After The Masked Figure completed her experiments, she helped the Sivylla/Enforcers escape.
Appearance
The Masked Figure was a derivation of the Kuchisake-Onna legend. She was human until after her death, and then she became a vengeful spirit. In "Death's Mending Touch," she was initially covered in gray and white clothing plus black goggles. She appeared to be average weight and tall, with long, black hair and pale skin. She was East Asian, particularly Japanese. Her mouth was slit from ear to ear.
Personality, Behavior, Et Cetera
From what little the Sivylla know, The Masked Figure experimented on them with mild curiosity and chilling apathy for their well-being. Based on her behavior, she acted in her own self-interests. Just because she took a job with the Trader's League didn't mean she was loyal to them. She was pleased when shown respect, and she would show it in return—particularly when involving supernatural matters.
Relationships
The Masked Figure's relationships are currently unknown. All the Sivylla/Enforcers knew was that the Masked Figure worked for the Trader's League.
